The Batching Motion for Looms manufactured by Niruma Textile Machinery converts the take-up of a running automatic power loom into clean, even-tension fabric rolling. Fabric that would otherwise accumulate in a heap below the loom is received, guided and wound onto a roll as it is produced, keeping the shed area clear and the fabric protected.

The unit is ergonomically designed and fast to handle, so it can be operated by a single operator. It is synchronised with the loom output to maintain even rolling tension across the full width, which is essential when the same roll has to go straight to a coating, compositing or finishing line without re-winding.

It supports fabric rolling for all types of automatic looms — Sulzer, Picanol, Omni, Toyota, Tsudokoma Ruti-C and similar — and rolls denim, low bottom weight, industrial fabric, technical fabric and non-woven fabric. A custom built version is available for larger working widths from 1150 mm to 4000 mm. Niruma has built textile machinery in Odhav, Ahmedabad since 1980.

Why Choose This Machine

User-friendly ergonomic design: The unit is designed around the operator’s working position, so fabric handling is comfortable and quick. One operator can manage rolling, doffing and roll change without extra help.

Even, synchronised tension: The batching motion is synchronised with loom output, so fabric is wound at an even tension across the full width. The roll comes off the loom ready for the next process with no re-winding.

Compatible with major loom makes: Works with Sulzer, Picanol, Omni, Toyota, Tsudokoma Ruti-C and similar automatic looms, so you can standardise batching across a mixed loom fleet.

Handles heavy and technical fabrics: Designed for denim, low bottom weight, industrial, technical and non-woven fabric — materials where tension control and roll quality are most critical.

Custom built widths: Available in custom built versions from 1150 mm to 4000 mm working width, so very wide loom shed requirements can be accommodated.

Clearer, safer shed area: Because fabric is rolled away as it is produced, there is no heap accumulating below the loom. This reduces contamination, trip risk and space used per loom.

Applications & Industries Served

This batching motion for looms is used across the following textile processes and industries:

  • Denim weaving mills
  • Automatic power loom shed units
  • Technical and industrial fabric weaving
  • Non-woven fabric production lines
  • Coating and finishing units requiring tension-free fabric
  • Composite mills with wide-width looms
  • Low bottom weight fabric producers

How It Works — Operator Notes

The batching motion is synchronised with the loom output so that fabric is taken up at the same rate it is produced. Correct synchronisation is what gives an even tension roll from the first metre to the last.

Because the unit is operated by one person, position it so the roll change and doffing action fall within comfortable reach. Poor placement is the most common cause of operator fatigue after installation.

For working widths above the standard range, the custom built version from 1150 mm to 4000 mm is used. Provide your loom working width, roll diameter requirement and fabric type when requesting a quotation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions buyers ask most often about this machine.

What is a batching motion for looms?
It is a mechanism fitted to an automatic power loom that receives the woven fabric as it is produced and winds it onto a roll with even tension, instead of letting the fabric accumulate in a heap below the loom.
Which loom makes are supported?
Our batching motions are used with Sulzer, Picanol, Omni, Toyota, Tsudokoma Ruti-C and similar types of automatic power looms.
Which fabrics can be rolled on it?
Denim, low bottom weight fabric, industrial fabric, technical fabric and non-woven fabric. Synchronised even-tension rolling is particularly useful where fabric goes directly to a coating or finishing process.
How many operators are needed?
One. The unit is ergonomically designed and fast to handle, so a single operator can manage fabric rolling, doffing and roll changes.
What working widths are available?
Standard models cover typical loom widths, and a custom built version is available for larger working widths from 1150 mm up to 4000 mm.
How does batching motion help the shop floor?
Rolling fabric away as it is produced keeps the shed area clear, reduces contamination and trip risk around the loom, and produces rolls that are ready for the next process without re-winding.
